innoFSPEC supporting bioplastic development from waste
Scientists from various disciplines and institutions work in the development of biodegradable plastic with good product properties. In a joint project between TU Berlin and innoFSPEC, waste fats are used as raw materials. Our collegue Thomas Schiewe is responsible for inline monitoring of the underlying production process. The overall aim of the project is to develop a substitute for the relatively inexpensive conventional plastic, i.e. to make bioplastic as cheap and resource-saving as possible to produce.
Details on this project were published in the recent „Portal Wissen“ journal (1/2020). For more insights read the full article here.
